You are viewing a 1968 Gibson J-160E slope shouldered Dreadnaught Acoustic/Electric Guitar. The s/n is 517378. The sale includes the guitar and an aftermarket hardshell case.
The guitar is is good condition. Cosmetically it's in very good condition but it has some playability issues. There is a neck hump where the neck meets the body and the guitar frets out at the 12-15th fret area. The string height at the 12 fret is 7/64's on the low "E" and 6/64th on the high "E". So if you play "cowboy chords" it's comfortable.
The neck truss rod is fully tightened and there is still considerable relief in the neck. We think the truss rod has come un-anchored from its anchor point. So to get the playability to it's optimum, considerable neck work needs to be done. This Vintage guitar would qualify as a PROJECT guitar.
There are no breaks or cracks in the guitar. The sound board has some light dings and weather checking. Overall the guitar is very clean.
